3 Ways to Cure the Post-Camp Blues

1It is hard to imagine that Crossings 2014 will officially come to a close this week as our final camp sessions end today at Jonathan Creek and Sunday at Cedarmore. With the end of every summer comes a sense of sorrow mixed with joy as we draw to a close an amazing summer, and this year is no different.  It has been a record-breaking summer full of excitement and life-change. We won’t soon forget all the Lord has done this summer, and our hope is that the same rings true for all who were a part in Crossings. So, as we approach the end of another incredible summer, we want to offer three ways to help ease those post-camp blues!

1) Study the Post-Camp Curriculum

Our desire is that the main camp take-away for everyone this year is the truth that God is GREATER! With that in mind, as a way to help you continue to bring this truth home, we have provided a set of Post-Camp Curriculum for students, parents and leaders! You can access this material by going to “My Camp Week” on our main webpage, finding your week of camp and clicking on the resources tab. Here you will find a 30-Day Devotional, Parent Bible Study and Group Bible Study – all as a continuation of our Greater theme! These materials are a great way to bring a small piece of camp home and even share it with others!

2) Share Your Story

Another way to rid yourself of those end-of-camp blues is to share your story with others. Now this may sound strange, but it’s true. Telling others about the great things God does in your life is so important! It is a way for us to testify to His greatness. Whether it was a lesson you learned, a decision you made, a memory you created or a Beyond Effect idea you had, share it with your friends and family! Also, don’t forget to take the time to share your experience with your church and church leaders. God has given us the church as a family and they will be the ones to help us continue to grow and learn long after camp is over.

3) Sign-up for Next Year

What better way to cure those post-camp blues than to begin preparing for next year! Why be sad over camp ending, when you can already get excited for it to start again! Registration is open for both student and kids camp in 2015 – and the weeks are filling up fast! At student camp next summer, we will dive into the Book of Haggai as we look at how God is calling us to move from ruins to righteousness through our theme, REBUILD. Then, at kids’ camp, we will learn how God calls us out of a life in darkness into a LIFE IN COLOR. You do not want to miss out on these two amazing camps next summer! The best part, you don’t even have to wait until summer. Registration is open for our winter weekend Disciple Now event, CORE. Click here to register for CORE, Student Camp or Kids Camp, or contact our Guest Relations Coordinators at 502-491-7000.
