A Chance of a Lifetime

The chance of a lifetime!  When you hear that statement it certainly stirs a variety of mental images in your mind.  We at Crossings have been given, what is without question, a “chance of a lifetime” and we are excited to share it with you.  A formal transition is now in process in which the Kentucky Baptist Convention is charging Crossings Ministries to become the source for Kentucky Baptist Churches for resources, training and equipping for youth ministers across the state.  Notice the key words “to become.”

Our desire, as a ministry, is to partner with youth pastors and their churches in a new and expanded way that transcends camp and a conference and retreat setting. We know this is a great task and it will not happen overnight. It will be by God’s grace and strength alone, and we will seek to follow Him into this new opportunity He has provided.  This partnership represents something that surpasses what we would have ever thought possible.  The need and mission is clear.  The youth generation must be reached for the sake of the Gospel.  The worldly distractions and challenges facing our youth have never been greater.  The pressure placed upon our youth pastors to reach students has never been greater.

Our goal is clear and we have a great passion for it.  We must first, be faithful to proclaim that Salvation is found in Christ alone. God has revealed Himself through His Word as His Word is completely true and correct in all ways and God sets us apart for His work to make His name known all around the world.  Our desire is to build relationships with youth pastors and their church to aide in providing resources, training, equipping, networking and encouragement to the church.  These steps can only be accomplished as we seek to serve alongside the church by striving to be the best stewards of what God has now entrusted to this ministry. Luke 12 tell us, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

Our staff could not be more excited, or more humbled at this task.  Only by and through God may we together seek to reach the youth of our state and this world, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
